“They Walked Straight to the Bedrooms and Said Nothing” – Matembe Family Raises Alarm Over Mysterious Security Visit

A reported security operation at the home of former Ethics and Integrity Minister Miria Matembe has sparked fresh public debate after her husband, Mr. Nkemia Matembe, described what he called a disturbing and unexplained visit by individuals believed to be security operatives.

The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday morning while Miria Matembe was away from the residence. According to her husband, the visitors arrived without prior notice and entered parts of the property without offering a clear explanation for their presence.

Speaking about the incident, Nkemia Matembe said he was having tea when two women dressed in civilian clothing entered the compound. He claimed the women walked past him without introducing themselves or explaining their mission before proceeding toward the interior sections of the house.

According to his account, the situation became more concerning when he noticed additional individuals stationed outside the residence. He said two uniformed soldiers wearing face masks were positioned near the compound, while another man dressed in civilian clothes stood nearby observing the surroundings.

Mr. Matembe said his attempts to ask questions were met with silence. He claimed that although some of the individuals indicated they did not want anything from him, they declined to explain why they had entered the property or what business they had at the residence.

The former minister’s husband described the experience as unsettling, particularly because the visitors allegedly moved toward the bedroom area without first seeking permission or identifying themselves. He said the lack of communication left him confused and anxious throughout the encounter.

The development comes shortly after Miria Matembe publicly criticized CDF Muhoozi Kainerugaba over political and governance issues. The timing of the incident has therefore fueled speculation among political observers and supporters regarding whether the two events could be connected.

Human rights advocates and opposition figures have frequently raised concerns about the treatment of government critics, often calling for greater transparency and accountability from security agencies. The latest claims are likely to intensify those discussions, especially given Matembe’s long history as a prominent political figure and outspoken commentator on national affairs.
