President Museveni Directs Shs7 Billion Support for Bivulu Promoters as Leaders Meet at OPM

KAMPALA, Uganda — President Yoweri Museveni has reportedly directed that Shs7 billion be allocated to promoters operating in Bivulu, a move that has generated significant interest among stakeholders and community leaders.

The development emerged as dozens of Bivulu promoters gathered at the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) in Kampala for a consultative meeting convened to discuss the implementation of the presidential directive and the future of their activities.

Witnesses said the promoters began arriving at the OPM Conference Hall shortly before 2:00 PM, where they lined up to register and gain access to the highly anticipated meeting. The gathering brought together representatives from different groups associated with Bivulu activities, government officials, and community leaders.

According to participants familiar with the discussions, the meeting was aimed at providing guidance on how the funds would be utilized and ensuring that beneficiaries understand the government's expectations regarding accountability and implementation.

The reported allocation follows appeals from various stakeholders who have been seeking government intervention to address financial and operational challenges affecting promoters in the sector. Supporters of the initiative argue that the funding could provide much-needed relief and create opportunities for growth and economic empowerment.

Officials attending the meeting emphasized the importance of transparency in managing public resources and urged beneficiaries to ensure that the funds contribute directly to improving livelihoods and supporting development initiatives.

The presence of large numbers of promoters at the Prime Minister's Office highlighted the level of interest surrounding the program. Many attendees expressed optimism that the intervention would help strengthen their activities and improve economic conditions within their communities.

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja was reportedly tasked with overseeing the implementation of the directive and coordinating with relevant government agencies to ensure the process moves smoothly.

Meanwhile, supporters of the initiative praised President Yoweri Museveni for what they described as a commitment to supporting ordinary Ugandans and promoting economic participation at the grassroots level.

However, some observers have called for clear guidelines regarding the distribution and management of the funds, noting that accountability will be crucial in determining the long-term success of the program.
